Dicyandiamide (DCDA) Introduction for Paper Industry

Dicyandiamide is generally not added directly to pulp. It is mainly used to synthesize dicyandiamide-formaldehyde cationic resin.Applications: retention and drainage aid, dye fixing, anionic trash neutralization, white water decolorization and flocculation. It also serves as raw material for wet strength agents and flame-retardant specialty paper.Disadvantage: Traditional resin contains free formaldehyde, which is restricted for exported food packaging paper. Low-formaldehyde / formaldehyde-free modified grades are now promoted.
